Matuszewski’s profile for the Notable Women in Health Care, which is included in the June 18 issue of Crain’s Detroit Business, can be viewed here.
Matuszewski is a champion of innovative primary care and chronic care initiatives. She has guided MedNetOne since its founding in 1981 as a traditional physician’s organization (P.O.). As a result of her efforts in raising awareness of the role that Social Determinants of Health (#SDOH) play in overall health and wellness, MedNetOne partnered with the Oakland University School of Health Sciences to jointly present a first of its kind #SDOH symposium in Michigan on April 18 titled “Better Upstream Health for Better Downstream Care.
Matuszewski’s areas of expertise are health policy analysis, physician workforce strategies, physician practice environment, primary care team leadership, and primary care practice management/governance interface. She has consulted with medical societies and state, local, national and international health care organizations and has been a frequent speaker on the management of innovation and primary care-based chronic illness programs.
Matuszewski is also the founding Principal of the Michigan-based, IACET-accredited health care learning organization, Practice Transformation Institute (PTI), which designs, develops and delivers educational programs introducing the 21st century model of medicine to the health care community and medical practice teams.
Matuszewski is active in civic and professional groups including the Patient Centered Primary Care Collaborative (PCPCC) where she is an executive member, BCBSM Stewardship Council, BCBSM Organized Systems of Care Workgroup, BCBSM High Intensity Care Management Workgroup, Advocates for the Michigan Osteopathic Association and the Michigan Primary Care Consortium. She also served on the URAC Patient-Centered Health Care Home (PCHCH) Advisory Group. Locally, Matuszewski serves on the Oakland University School of Health Sciences Advisory Board.
