Ewa Matuszewski is co-founder and CEO of Medical Network One in Rochester, a Michigan-based physicians’ services organization established in 1981. The organization now serves some 750 primary and specialty care physicians in Michigan and Ohio. Matuszewski is a Detroit-area health care veteran and champion of innovative primary care and chronic care initiatives, including the award-winning Chronic Care Travel Team program. She has consulted with medical societies and local, state, national, and international health care organizations, and has been a frequent speaker on the management of innovative, primary care-based chronic disease programs, and the Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH), a national health care movement that establishes the primary care physician’s office as the patient’s medical home, with the personal physician coordinating all of a patient’s medical care to improve patient health and ultimately decrease costs.
